Lisa Hall
Lisa received her Ukrainian dance training at Veselka and later with the Volya Ukrainian Dance Ensemble, Edmonton Alberta, under the direction of Rick Wacko. She continued her ballet training at Pacific Dance Centre working her way through the Royal Academy of Dance exams. She graduated from Victoria Arts Collaborative Professional Division as a scholarship student and later joined the company. In 1990 Lisa became Dance Director of Veselka’s School and Co-Director of Veselka Ukrainian Dance Ensemble. She was appointed Artistic Director in 1994. Lisa has been teaching province-wide for the last 25 years and is currently a teacher at Dunsmuir Dance Academy and Lester B. Pearson United World College of the Pacific.
Larissa Edmondson
Larissa began dancing with Veselka at the age of 4 and hasn’t stopped yet. Throughout the past 20 years of dancing under the leadership of Lisa Hall, she also cross-trained in other dance styles of Ballet, Contemporary, Jazz, Tap, and Musical Theatre. Larissa has studied R.A.D. ballet and A.I.D.T Tap and Modern. She successfully completed up to the Intermediate Vocational ballet exam (R.A.D.). While completing a B.A. in Sociology, Larissa continued to train in dance with the Victoria School of Contemporary Dance and Veselka. She began teaching dance in 2014, in ballet and contemporary at Veselka and Dance Unlimited. Today, she continues teaching as a Ukrainian dance Instructor, participating on the Board of Directors and is a member of Veselka’s pre-professional company, Skunkworks.
